The product is designed for industrial process gas analysis. No additional gases or other consumables are needed.
The thermal conductivity of a gas mixture depends on the individual gas components and on the composition of the mixture. Under certain conditions the concentration of individual gas components can be determined by measuring the thermal conductivity.
The FTC130-TRA detector is based on a micro-mechanical silicon chip. The chip is fitted into a stainless steel housing where the measuring gas flows through.
The flow-through device and the electronics are placed in a sealed aluminum housing (protection class: IP65). Gas inlet and outlet are made with 6mm stainless-steel tubing. The product comes with a 5m long cable to connect the power supply (24V DC/450mA) and access the linear 4-20mA output.
In general, a calibration at a single point using only one calibration gas is sufficient. The interval between two calibrations depends very much on the application and might vary from several weeks to months.
